Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action this afternoon after a woman fell and injured her leg whilst walking on the Cleveland Way national trail near Kepwick Village.
Because of the location of the incident, the rescue team members were deployed via two routes - one in a Team Land Rover Ambulance from the Osmotherley end via Square Corner, with others accessing the Cleveland Way via Kepwick village.
Rescue crews located the injured walker and provided her with pain relief and splinted her right leg.
A spokesman said: "A short while later an ambulance arrived and, thanks to the relatively good condition of the track in that area, it was driven along the Cleveland Way to the scene. The casualty was then assisted into the ambulance and taken to hospital for treatment."
Eleven team members were involved in the rescue.
