Here are some of the cases heard at Teesside Magistrates' Court in the last week.
DANNY BASNETT, 22, of Bluebell Crescent, Stockton, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a person in Stockton and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £106 in court costs and charges.
STEVEN JOHN SLATER, 40, of Jubilee Street Middlesbrough, was jailed for eight weeks for breaking a restraining order.
MICHAEL WILLIAM QUINN, 25, of Premier Road, Middlesbrough, was fined £40 for failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Teesside Magistrates' Court.
THOMAS DEREK TRAYNOR, 31, of Jackson Street, Hartlepool, was fined £40 for failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Teesside Magistrates' Court.
NEIL WALTER FLOUNDERS, 46, of Grange Road, Hartlepool, interfered with a Mercedes Sprinter van and was discharged conditionally for 12-months. He was ordered to pay £106 in court costs and charges.
JAMES ESCRITT, 33, of Mitchell Avenue, Thornaby, failed to complete a breath test when requested so had his driving record endorsed with ten points. He was also ordered to pay £239 in court fines, costs and charges.
CAMERON LEE PARKIN, 21, of Vulcan Way, Stockton, was caught drug-driving, failing to stop when requested by an officer and driving without the correct licence or insurance. He was ordered to pay a total of £357 in court fines, costs and charges and banned from driving for 22-months.
PERRY SMITH, 27, of Fletchers Mews, Milton Keynes, was caught drink-driving on Leven Bank Road in Yarm and without the correct licence or insurance. He was ordered to pay a total of £2,185 in court fines, costs and charges and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14-months.
NATHAN JAMES MCMANUS, 23, of Pilkington Street, North Ormesby, being a relevant offender within the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, failed to comply with the notification requirements by failing to register an address within three days. He was given a community order with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and ordered to pay a charge of £90.
MOHAMMED USMEN, 29, of Yarm Road, Stockton, was caught carrying a knuckle duster on Gray's Road in Stockton. He was also caught driving a vehicle without the correct insurance. He was ordered to pay a total of £1,099 in court fines, costs and charges and had his driving record endorsed with six points.
STEPHEN SWAINSTON, 35, of Durham Road, Stockton, used towards another threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at CMC Magistrates' Court, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings. He was given a community order with a 15-week, electronically-monitored, overnight curfew. He was also ordered to pay a £90 charge.
DALE THOMAS ALLICK, 28, of Gould Walk, Stockton was caught driving a vehicle without the correct insurance or licence and failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Cleveland Magistrates' Court, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings. He was ordered to pay a total of £279 in court fines, costs and charges and had his driving record endorsed with eight points.
MENCUR KOKA, 26, of Crescent Road, Middlesbrough, not being a British citizen, knowingly entered the UK in breach of a deportation order. He was jailed for four months and ordered to pay a total of £213 in court charges and costs.
OLIVER CAIRNS, 20 of Marske Lane, Stockton, was caught in possession of the Class B drug cannabis. He was ordered to pay a total of £199 in court fines, costs and charges.
KARL GAVIN JONES, 41, of Hartington Road, Stockton, was jailed for18-weeks for multiple shoplifting offences and for offending whilst under a suspended sentence order. He was also ordered to pay £43.03 compensation.
MR PATRICK JAMES ALAN MCCARTHY, 36, of Melville Walk, Stockton, caused harassment, alarm and distress, which he was prohibited from doing by a non-molestation order. He was ordered to pay a total of £259 in court fines, costs and charges.
JOHN WILLIAM ROBINSON, 34, of Pinero Grove, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and failed without reasonable cause to Fined £80.

JOHN WEATHERILL, 55, of Rossall Street Hartlepool stole numerous items, to the value of £39.47 from a Hartlepool Morrisons. He was charged £197 in costs.
