A DRIVE-IN cinema is returning for a Halloween spook fest featuring cult classics and late-night thrillers.

The cinema is being set up for three days at Darlington's Mowden arena with a line up of spooky screenings.

Daisy Dukes Drive-In Cinema has been touring the country offering a classic big-screen distraction during the lockdown period and the team are now ramping things up for Halloween with the addition of interactive scare actors on the ground to bring the movies to life.

The event runs from Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 1.

It starts on Friday, October 30, with showing of Hocus Pocus, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Scary Movie and the Exorcist.

The fun continues on Saturday with Casper, Beetlejuice, Scream and It and on Sunday featured films include Ghostbusters, Nightmare Before Christmas, Shaun of the Dead and the Blair Witch Project.

Operations Manager Kane Ayton said: "Halloween is our favourite time of the year, and we've definitely pulled out all the stops to give the people of Darlington a frightfully fun event!"

“We're teaming up with North-East-based scare attraction Scream Factory to unleash a terrifying experience on the grounds of Mowden Park Stadium.

“Children will be greeted by their favourite characters during the day, adults will bump into some of their worst nightmares by evening!"

Tickets are on sale, priced from £15 per person, from www.daisydukesdriveincinema.co.uk.
