A NORTH-EAST company renowned for its French macarons is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with some novel booby macarons.
Le Mini Macaron, based in Newcastle, were regulars at the Quayside market and pre-Covid attended many food festivals right across the North East.
The family-run business was well known at Middlesbrough Orange Pip and also attended food festivals in Darlington, Durham, Saltburn and the Festival of Thrift.
Now the firm, which like many has struggled in the face of Covid, has created novel treats to support cancer awareness after another food trader went through breast cancer twice.
Partner Joanne Kenyon said: “It is always nice to produce themed macarons which also benefit others.
"We are delighted to support such an important cause with our booby macarons. Every box of booby macarons we sell will result in a £1 donation going towards funding for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"Each box contains three pairs of booby macarons that are filled with a chocolate ganache, salted caramel and raspberry ganache and are absolutely scrumptious."
