A POSTMAN who stole more than 1,000 postal packets over an eight -year period has appeared at court.
Michael Sullivan appeared before a Judge at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to two charges.
The first, theft by employee between August 20, 2011 and September 25, 2019, in Consett, where he stole approximately 1,032 postal packets containing money and gift cards.
The second, a further charge of theft by employee, but relating specifically to September 25, 2019, where he stole three postal packets containing £65 cash.
Sullivan, of Temple Forge Mews, in Consett, was remanded on conditional bail.
The 54-year-old is due to appear at Durham Crown Court on Thursday, November 5.
