A QUIRKY new map has revealed the cost of a Big Mac burger in every country - but there is a reason behind it.
For the past three decades, the Big Mac has become one of the most consumed over the world.
An interactive new map has been put together to create the 2020 Big Mac World Price Index.
It indicates each country's 'Purchase Power Parity Indicator', which indicates how each country compares with another in terms of value.
What the experts are saying
Antoine Fruchard, chief executive officer and expert at Hello-Safe, which put the map together, said: "Just like the cost of a beer, we've found out that the price of a Big Mac is a very good indicator to assess each country's purchase power parity.
"With an average £3.34 Big Mac price, the UK surprisingly ranks among the cheapest European countries, even if that price might be different between a fast-food located in downtown London and another one in Scotland or Nothern Ireland".
