FOR the first time in four months, McDonald's fans will be allowed to sit in a select number of restaurants.

McDonald's was forced to close all of its sites in March following the coronavirus outbreak and fears over social distancing.

It gradually reopened restaurants for drive-thru and delivery last month after a succesful trial at a handful of stores.

Here's the safety measures in place

Restaurants are being advised to carefully manage the number of customers inside.

When customers arrive they will be asked to use the hand sanitiser and follow the safety measures laid out in restaurants.

Food will be served by table-service only with customers able to order directly to their table via the McDonald’s App, at the till or kiosk.

In line with Government guidance, it will ask customers that choose to eat-in to leave their contact details by using their smart phone to either scan a QR code taking them to a dedicated webpage or visiting that webpage directly with the URL details provided on each table.

Customers will be asked to leave the name of the lead member and the number of people within their group, a phone number, the date and time of visit and the restaurant number.

This comes as McDonald's said some of its restaurants will take part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which offers 50 percent off dine-in bills, up to £10 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August.
