URBAN explorers are reminded about the dangers of entering abandoned buildings.
Durham police said trespassers have been known to enter Ushaw College, in Durham, to take pictures of its old seminary at this time of year.
But with the building becoming increasingly unstable, officers urge those thinking of venturing inside to stay away. They said not only is it potentially very dangerous, it could land them with a criminal record.
A spokeswoman said: “Urban explorers might get a thrill from visiting buildings like the one at Ushaw College, however, they are fenced off for a reason.
“This building is unstable and as a result these urban explorers could come to significant harm.
“Not only that, visitors are often damaging the building when they enter and are in fact trespassing.”
