IT will be your patriotic duty to go out and enjoy yourselves Conservative MPs have said ahead of businesses reopening from July 4.
Up to 570 businesses in the region will benefit. Conservative MPs Simon Clarke and Jacob Young are encouraging Teessiders to support the re-opening of the tourism and leisure sectors.
Jacob Young, MP for Redcar, said: “Thanks to the efforts of the British people to control the virus, I am delighted that we have created the space to now allow people to take a much-needed holiday and enjoy everything our region has to offer. I really hope people get out to support the tourism, hospitality and businesses which are reopening - whether you're taking your family for fish and chips at the seaside or being able to enjoy a pint with friends - it is vital that we support our economy."
Simon Clarke, MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, said: “First and foremost, safety is of paramount importance and it is vital that social distancing rules and safety guidance are adhered to. We need to ensure that local people as well as our guests feel safe and I will continue to press that.
"But, that said, from 4 July it is pretty much your patriotic duty to go out and enjoy yourself! Not only will you be helping our local businesses get back on their feet, but after all we have sacrificed, we all deserve it."
