Raby Castle, Park and Gardens, with its wide-open spaces and panoramic views across the Deer Park, is the perfect place to enjoy the Spring sunshine. It is even more important than ever for everyone to look after their wellbeing and there is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the nature and wildlife, the fresh air and beautiful landscape.

The Northern Echo:

Following the latest Government advice in respect of Covid-19 the Castle, Shop and Cafe are currently closed. However, the Woodland Play Area, Park and Walled Gardens are open as usual, along with the refreshments kiosk in the Coach Yard from 10am each day. The Waterfall Walk to High Force is also open daily from 9am.

Whilst many Mother’s Day afternoon tea events in the region, including Raby’s, have been cancelled, Raby is still honouring its FREE ENTRY to mum’s promotion on Sunday when accompanied by a Park and Gardens ticket holder. There will even be takeaway afternoon tea available with a box of cakes and scones for two from £10 from the refreshment kiosk.

Having experienced first-hand the shortages in the supermarkets, the team at Raby has been working hard with local suppliers to offer a selection of produce and gifts which are now available daily from the refreshment kiosk.

The Northern Echo:

Basic provisions such as fresh bread, scones, potatoes, other vegetables and hopefully soon eggs and milk are available. The Estate’s Longhorn beef and venison are proving more popular than ever and there are still stocks of both, which means you can buy all your ingredients for a perfect Sunday roast.

The Northern Echo:

Also, on sale are plants for your garden, Mother's Day gift ideas and even soap and hand cream. The Stables Shop is closed but staff will be happy to take people in individually to browse so that they can adhere to safety and hygiene regulations. Please ask when you arrive.

Please note that only card payments are being accepted so that staff are not handling cash. Park and Gardens tickets are also available online at www.raby.co.uk/raby-castle for those who prefer to buy in advance.

The website is being regularly updated in line with the latest Government advice and there is lots of information on there about how Raby Castle and High Force are keeping visitors safe. In the meantime, follow Raby on social media for activity ideas, special video blogs from the Castle collections and all the latest news.
