HEALTH chiefs have confirmed two people in Darlington have tested positive for the Covid-19 infection after showing symptoms.
The second, confirmed on Sunday morning, is said to be self-isolating in the community.
Hospital bosses confirmed the town’s first official case on Saturday night and said the patient is being treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

No further details about those with the coronavirus, their conditions, or where they are from, have been made available.
On Wednesday, officials from Public Health England North East apologised after a case of the infection was announced in Darlington, when it was in fact in the County Durham area.

Another case was confirmed in Gateshead on Friday and figures released by Public Health England said there were 49 confirmed cases in the North-East and Yorkshire.
