OFFICERS investigating a violent fight ahead of a Newcastle United away game have released images of a number of people they need to speak to.

The fight took place during the club’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley that kicked off at 3pm on December 14.

At about 4.25pm that afternoon, a number of Newcastle fans were drinking at the The Turf Hotel pub in Burnley after leaving the ground at half-time.

They became involved in a large fight with a number of others in the pub.

Dozens of people are believed to have been involved and six men have already been arrested by police.

But now officers investigating the incident have released images of nine men they need to identify.

They are believed to be Newcastle fans and anyone who recognises them is being asked to get in touch with police.

Anyone who knows the men, or has information that could assist police with the investigation, is asked to contact officers on 101 or email football.intelligence.mailbox@northumbria.pnn.police.uk
