A TEENAGER has appeared at court following a robbery at a shop in Spennymoor at the weekend.
The youth, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court this morning charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a metal pole, on Saturday, March 7.
It is alleged that the defendant robbed Spennymoor Boozers Bargains on High Street at around 9.30pm and made off with an amount of cash.
He was remanded into custody pending a hearing at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Friday.
