THE region's next major designer village has been encapsulated in a first-look video as work is set to begin in coming months.

The up and coming Scotch Corner Designer Village, which is set open off the A1(M) in autumn next year, is to offer around 92 globally-recognised fashion brands.

Brands including Tommy Hilfiger, BOSS, Levi's and Calvin Klein are among the big names that the designer village is hoping will attract people from the North-East and North Yorkshire.

When complete, described as the region's "leading leisure destination" of the North, its low-rise and uncovered design will create a village atmosphere typical of a Yorkshire town.

Simon Waterfield, developer and co-owner of Scotch Corner Richmond, said: “Scotch Corner Designer Village is an incredibly exciting project.

"We are on track to open the leading outlet retail and leisure destination in the North-of-England in 2021 and are also proud to be championing local brands and businesses and offering our future customers exciting outlet brands to discover.

"Community is also at the heart of our vision and we look forward to creating some 330 jobs during construction and more than 1,000 permanent new jobs once we open."
