TWO teenagers suffered broken legs and a third a broken wrist after the car they were in sped away from a police car.
It is believed an MG accelerated after passing a patrol car shortly after 4pm last night at Sawmills Lane in Brandon, near Durham.
The vehicle lost control in a chicane and collided with a tree.
The 17-year-old driver and 18-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with broken legs.
The back seat passenger, 18, was also taken to hospital with a broken wrist.
Durham Constabulary said the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) attended the scene.
The road has now re-opened.
