AN award-winning folk duo will be playing to audiences in Swaledale this month.

Folk fiddle player Nancy Kerr, whose best known for her work with the multi-award-winning The Full English band, The Elizabethan Session, the Melrose Quartet and the trio Simpson Cutting Kerr will be playing with her equally musical husband James Fagan at Reeth Memorial Hall on March 20.

James, originally from Austria, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer, specialising in bouzouki, guitar and mandolin. James is also part of Melrose Quartet and The James Brothers as well as a core vocal tutor on the Newcastle University Folk Music Degree Course.

The pair have previously toured in the British Isles, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan and have twice won Best Duo at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. All profits will go towards the upkeep and refurbishment of the hall.
