TWO people have appeared in court charged with holding a woman captive and stabbing her in a Chester-le-Street home.
Neil Wright, 44, and Leanne Pope, 39, both of The Crescent, Chester-le-Street, have been charged with false imprisonment, wounding with intent and robbery.
The offences are alleged to have taken place at a home in The Crescent in the early hours of Sunday.
The pair were remanded in custody after appearing at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
They will appear at Durham Crown Court on Friday, March 13.
A police spokesperson said a 23-year-old woman sustained stab wounds which required hospital treatment.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything relating to the incident in the early hours of Sunday.
Anyone with information should contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 30 of March 1.
