DIGITAL marketing services business LOCALiQ has today teamed up with Teesside International Airport to help drive its future.
LOCALiQ, owned by Newsquest Media Group, publishers of The Northern Echo, will be responsible for securing commercial revenue from the advertising billboards throughout the airport.
The campaign will promote the area’s local businesses and aim to reach some of the 2.5 million people who live within a 60 minute catchment area of the airport.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen, who saved the airport from closure by taking it back into public ownership, said: “Since taking back control of our airport and saving it from closure a year ago, we’ve been focused on securing more flights, but working with as many local companies as possible.
“So I’m excited about the new partnership with Local IQ to use the many advertising opportunities around our airport to promote the amazing local businesses we have in Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool.”
Ryan Fenwick, LOCALiQ and The Northern Echo’s sales director, said: “We are thrilled, in the 150th anniversary of The Northern Echo to embark on two exciting projects across Tees Valley. Firstly, the launch of The Northern Echo Teesside, which has received an incredible response from readers and advertisers alike, since it launched at the end of January.
“Secondly, to announce our partnership and selection as the official media partner for Teesside Airport, responsible for securing commercial revenue from the advertising billboards throughout the airport.
“Now is a great opportunity for local businesses to show their support to the airport, after all, as a region, we all benefit from a prosperous airport and improved transport links.
“Ben Houchen has done a great job in not only raising the profile of the region, but also beginning the process of turning a once thriving, local airport around.
“There are a variety of media formats for businesses to convey their marketing message, all of which include exposure within The Northern Echo Teesside, as well as benefitting from our award winning LOCALiQ digital display solutions.”
