THE region's foodies and curious are set to descend on Rockliffe Hall near Darlington as its annual and hugely-successful food fair makes a return, with plenty of alcohol.

Between Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, well-known chefs and drink producers will take over the grounds taking part in live demonstrations, hot food stalls, gin, wine and beer schools.

On Saturday, chefs from Rockcliffe Hall's renowned restaurants and Sachins in Newcastle, will show off their alternative cuisine between 11.30am and 2.30pm.

While on Sunday, chefs from The Devonport Hotel in Middleton One Row, The Calabash Tree and Jesmond Dene House, will follow the same routines showing off their skills between 11.30 and 2.30pm.

On both days, 'Ginstructors' will teach the ways of the quintessential British spirit showing scholars how to correctly and most effectively pair and garnish their gin.

For those who don't fancy gin, North Yorkshire-based Bon Coeur Fine Wines will demonstrate the art of wine tasting and teach what food complements their selection.

A Beer School, led by the Three Brothers Brewing Company held on both days, will take place as traders from across the North-East and North Yorkshire take part in the food fair inside the hall and outdoor.
