THE following cases were heard at Newton Aycliffe and Peterlee Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.
ANDREW ERIC REYNOLDS, 42, of Everson Way, Spennymoor, was found guilty of driving an unlicensed Nissan on the A19. He was fined £195 and made to pay a further £154.59.
DANIELLE BRADLEY, 25, of Greenhills Terrace, Wheatley Hill, was found guilty of assaulting four police officers on Saturday, October 12, who were acting in the exercise of their functions. She indicated a plea of guilt and was given a prison sentence of 12 weeks which was suspended for 12 months. Bradley was also made to pay £100 compensation.
CHRISTOPHER MARTIN LAUDER, 34, of Weardale Crescent, Tow Law, destroyed a bedroom wall in Willington without lawful excuse. He was made to pay £100 compensation.
JOHN BELL, 40, of Surrey Crescent, Consett, drove an Audi without an insurance policy and was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. Bell was also fined £120, made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services and told to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
STEVEN DAVID BRYCE, 25, of Anthony Street, Peterlee, drove a Ford Focus Hatchback without due care and attention. The driver damaged a telegraph pole after failing to stop. He was fined £40, made to pay £30 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
PAUL STEPHEN HODGSON, 46, of Wycombe Street, Darlington, stole gin bottles and a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka to the value of £41 belonging to Morrisons. Hodgson was made to pay £20 to fund victim services and was conditionally discharged for 12 months.
DECLAN WAYNE DRUMMOND, 19, of Roker Close, Darlington, admitted breach of a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court. He was fined £40 and made to pay £60.
ROBERT LEE LANCE, 32, of Flora Street, Spennymoor, was discharged conditionally for six months after he stole two packets of cigarettes, a drinks can and two scratch cards. He pleaded guilty and was made to pay £20.89 compensation.
MALCOLM MCFADYAN, 36, of Skeeby Road, Darlington, was given a community order after he broke terms of a restraining order on Wednesday, October 9. The defendant indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £90 to fund victim services.
MARK ANDERSON, 33, of St Johns Crescent, Bowburn, drove a red VW Golf, while under the influence of Benzoylecgonine which exceeded the specified limit. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months. Anderson was also fined £300, made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services and ordered to pay £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
SPENCER MCGEE, 28, of Tanfield Lea, Stanley, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Combo Van whilst disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence. The 28-year-old was given a community order and given six driving points. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
KINGSLEY MICHAELS, of Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough, 35, drove a Audi A3 VRM while under the influence of a controlled drug which exceeded the specified limit. A community order was made and he was forced to pay an £85 surcharge to fund victim services. The driver was also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.
COLIN MORRIS, 49, of Valley View, Ushaw Moor, pleaded guilty to driving a car without insurance in Durham City. He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop on being required to do so by a constable in uniform while in the possession of cocaine. Michaels was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. He was fined £300, made to pay an amount to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
JOSH THOMAS JOHN MORRISON, 19, of Station Lane, Wingate, was found guilty of using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. At Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court he indicated a plea of guilt after assaulting two police constables in Wingate. He was given a community order, and forced to pay £50.
CHRISTOPHER JOHN NASH, 38, of James Street, Murton, admitted breaching a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court earlier this year. He was given an unpaid work requirement of 40 hours within the next twelve months.
DANIEL MATTHEW WINTERSGILL, 28, of no fixed address, indicated a plea of guilt after he attended an address several times he was prohibited to do so as part of a restraining order imposed by Teesside Magistrates' Court. Wintersgill was sent to prison for eight weeks and given a £122 order to fund victim services.
NATHAN REECE HASLAM, 20, of Bainbridge Avenue, Willington, admitting breaching a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court. He was fined £80 and made to pay £60 in costs.
LAYTON INGLIS, 20, of South Burns, Chester-Le-Street, admitting breaching a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court. He was committed to detention for six weeks which was suspended for 12 months. He was also made to pay £60 in costs.
MOHSEN YOUSEFI, 34, of Durham Street, Bishop Auckland, admitted breaching a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court. He was also up in court for stealing three Hugo Boss watches, to the value of of £1,200. Yousefi was given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay £60.
RONALD ADAMSON, 48, who gave his address as a hostel, in Plawsworth, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. Adamson was made to pay £50 compensation, a fee to fund victim services and handed a community and restraining order.
DARREL CONNACHAN, 36, of Ellison Main Gardens, Gateshead, dishonestly made off without paying a taxi driver. He avoided a payment of £78 and was discharged conditionally for 12 months by the court.
