FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house fire in Bishop Auckland last night.
Three crews attended the blaze in Tivoli Place just before 9pm on Wednesday.
Station manager Fraser McGuffog, said: “We got a call that a person was reportedly trapped in the house so three appliances went to the scene.

“When we arrived a couple of firefighters went in with breathing apparatus and searched the premises and found there was no-one there.
“There was just a small fire which was put out.”
The house was unoccupied, with the previous occupants having left a few days before, he added.
Two crews from Bishop Auckland and one from Spennymoor attended the incident.
Mr McGuffog said a fire investigation would not be taking place.
He added: “It wasn’t a big incident.”
