A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD from the North-East has been charged with terror offences following an investigation into right-wing extremism.
The teenager from Durham, who cannot be named because of his age, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London tomorrow (Wednesday).
He is charged with one count of engaging in preparation of an act of terrorism, one count of disseminating terrorist publications and one count of possessing material for terrorist purposes.
The defendant is further charged with three counts of possession of information useful in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
He is also charged with a sexual offence.
The youth was arrested on March 13, 2019, following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East and supported by Durham Constabulary.
