POLICE have issued a warning after a "suspicious" woman with a baby in a pram targeted two elderly victims for money in their own houses.
Police said the suspect targeted a 91-year-old man in his house on Elton Road, and also an 84-year-old woman in her house on Grosvenor road, both in Billingham, near Stockton on Monday.
The suspect reportedly approached the houses with a baby in a pram, before asking both victims if she could use their bathroom and kitchen to clean her baby's bottles.
At the house in Elton road, the woman took £20 and a door key, while nothing was stolen from the Grosvenor Road house, the 84-year-old woman "handed over" cash to assist the woman with a taxi fare.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "Officers are asking residents to be vigilant and to not allow people into their property if they are not known to them.
"The suspect is described as a white female, of slim build with dark hair and around 40 years old. She was wearing a tracksuit and white trainers."
- Anyone with any information regarding the woman or the incidents is asked to contact DC Andy Harland from Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event number 110525.
