A DASHCAM appeal has been launched after a 12-year-old boy was hit by a coach outside a secondary school on Monday (July 1).
At around 8.50am outside St Aiden's High School on Oatlands Drive in Harrogate, a boy travelling on a bicycle suffered serious injuries after colliding with a coach.
The boy, who is believed to be from Harrogate, was then taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. It's understood the passengers and driver of the coach were uninjured.
In the evening, police launched the dashcam footage appeal to anyone who could have been travelling in the area at the time of the crash.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area on Monday morning and saw the cyclist or the bus prior to the incident and to anyone who saw the collision itself, to contact them.
"They would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or the moments before it happened."
- Anyone with any information is asked to contact Traffic Constable Julie Brown of North Yorkshire Police’s Road Policing Group quoting reference number 12190118390.
