A CYCLIST suffered a broken shoulder after he was hit by a car close to a park.

The 25-year-old cyclist was riding along Park Road North in Middlesbrough, close to Albert Park, at about 2.45pm yesterday, Sunday, when he was hit by a blue Hyundai IX20.

The cyclist was taken to James Cook University Hospital, where he received treatment for a suspected broken or dislocated shoulder.

Police are asking for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
