HUNDREDS turned out to enjoy the warm weather and watch entertainers perform at this year's Community Carnival.
With the theme of ‘Celebrating Darlington through the Ages’, around 800 people paraded through Darlington the morning of Saturday, June 29, as they made their way from the town's Market Square to join the festivities at Stanhope Park.
Music could be heard from nearby streets as families enjoyed performances from by local groups such as Back Chat Brass, Inspire Beyond Dance and Stage Darlington, and members of the group Baque de O’Gum.
The afternoon saw young local musicians take to the Main Stage, including Endem and The Vellacos and the joint winners of this year's Maddison Lyonette music award - band Coated Ambassador and singer Jodie Nicholson.
There were a number of stalls, activities and rides and this year’s carnival charity was Angel Gowns, which supports bereaved parents.
