A ROAD outside a school was temporarily closed following an accident this afternoon.
At least one vehicle suffered significant damage following the accident near Hurworth School.
A temporary road closure was imposed to allow for the safe recovery of the vehicles, one of which lost a rear wheel following the impact.
A spokesman for the school said: "As some of you may be aware there was a road traffic accident outside of school tonight.
"None of our students were involved, however, they may have witnessed the accident.
"If your child is late home this will be due to a build up of traffic on the main road. If you or your child has any concerns please contact us on Monday, July 1."
