A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following an incident at a Darlington property.
Police were alerted to a disturbance on Barden Moor Road at around 07.40am yesterday morning, June 27.
Officers were still present at a property on the street this morning.
A 61-year-old woman was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and police have said man and woman were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both remain in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant James Batty, of Darlington Safeguarding Unit, said: “To assist in our inquiries, I’d urge anybody who heard or witnessed anything in the area between the hours of 3am and 7.40am to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
