A MAN has been cut free from a van after a three-vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called after the collision between a van, a truck and a single decker bus.
The accident happened on Portabello Road in Birtley and the man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 10.58am today we received a report of a three-vehicle collision involving a van, a truck and a bus on Portobello Road, Birtley.
“Officers and emergency services are currently in attendance and motorists are asked to avoid the area at this time.”
No-one involved in the crash is believed to be seriously injured.
