FLAMINGOES, horses and all manner of striking artwork will adorn the grounds of a North Yorkshire stately home in a new sculpture exhibition.
The Contemporary Sculpture Park has now opened in the grounds of Newby Hall, near Ripon.
Many of the works have been created especially for Newby, including ‘White Horse’ a galvanised wire sculpture created by Whitby artist Emma Stothard.
It features works by 24 different artists, with sculptures made out of materials including wood, steel, bronze, marble, ceramic, brass, copper and glass.
Ms Stothard said: “I have had my work exhibited at Newby Hall several times over the years, and I wanted to create something as unique and striking as the environment it will be displayed in.”
The Exhibition, which has been curated by Orlando Compton, consists of 48 sculptures and is open until September 29.
Mr Compton said: "The environment is a huge part of the exhibition.
"The landscape and woodland evolve and become part of the experience; the light, the trees and the sculptures change throughout the season, the exhibition will look very different in the middle of June to how it does at the end of the exhibition in September.”
