POLICE are appealing to witnesses following a crash which killed two motorcyclists over the weekend.
The crash happened on the B1257, near Chopgate, in the North York Moors, at around 11.50am on Sunday, June 9.
Police said a 56-year-old man, who was riding a silver Aprilia motorcycle, became involved in a 'collision' with a 63-year-old man riding a silver and black Norton Triton motorcycle, in the opposite direction.
Both men are from the Cleveland area.
Upon arrival, the emergency services said both men died at the scene of the crash.
The road remained closed for several hours to allow investigators examine the scene, before it was reopened to traffic at 6pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police are appealing to anyone who was traveling along the B1257 between Helmsley and Stokesley on Sunday morning and saw either of the motorcycles prior to the incident, or witnessed the collision itself to come forward."
