A PROLIFIC Stanley burglar has pleaded guilty to a number of offences.
Rory Whitehead appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court where he admitted three burglaries and an attempted burglary.
The offences happened between January 21 and January 23 this year when he burgled a care home, a car workshop and supermarket and attempted to break into a clearance store.
He was also arrested on a later date for failing to appear at court.
The 41-year-old, of Station Road, Stanley, was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Durham Crown Court on June 21.
Detective Sergeant Gary Davison, of Stanley CID, said: “Rory is a prolific burglar in the Stanley and Consett areas. I am pleased that he has admitted his guilt and hope that residents feel reassured that he has been caught.
“The fact that he was arrested for failing to appear at court for these offences also sends a clear message to offenders that we will catch up with you and we will bring you to justice.”
