DETECTIVES are keen to speak to a man who may have witnessed a man being severely assaulted.
The man was in the vicinity of the incident at the time of the suspected attack, outside Chaplin’s, in Consett, shortly before midnight on Sunday, May 5.
It is believed he was wearing a dark coloured top with a light section at the front and dark bottoms.
A 23-year-old man suffered head injuries and is currently in a critical condition in the RVI, in Newcastle.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.
Witnesses are asked to contact DS Chris Woollett, at Durham Constabulary, on 101, quoting incident number 21 of May 6.
