MORE than 150 tractors have taken part in a charity tractor run in memory of a young farmer.
Members of Hamsterley Vintage Tractor Club organised its annual run to remember 21-year-old Robert Thompson, from Butterknowle, in Teesdale, who died last summer.
More than £1,600 has been raised so far, which will be split between Samaritans North East and the If U Care Share Foundation, in Chester-le-Street.
A convoy of tractors, which included ones driven by member's of Mr Thompson's family, travelled from Hamsterley to nearby villages including Esperley, Cockfield and Woodland, passing through his home farm.
Joe Dobson, club chairman, who led the ride on Mr Thompson's John Deere tractor, said: "It was spot on, absolutely fantastic. The crowds and the tractors was a sight to see. I'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time to show up."
He also thanked Nigel and Joyce Kent and Steven Gibson of Hamsterley' Cross Keys, for the use of their field and Barnard Castle Police.
