CONSETT AFC U21s
Consett youngsters defeated Shiney Row 8-0 to progress into the next round of the Durham Minor Cup, two hat-tricks were served up by Adam McVickers and Matthew Scott plus singles from David Parker and Dean Bruce, m.o.m. was awarded to Scott Goldsmith Scott.
CONSETT YMCA JUNIORS FC
Under 7sConsett rascals were defeated 2-0 by Boldon Colts despite an excellent display from Thomas Wilson.
Under 9s
Consett flames entertained Ryton Blues in a rare 0-0 encounter, Cameron Gibb produced Consett's best display of the game.
Under 10s
Consett missiles had good news and bad as they defeated Washington Juniors 5-0 with goals from Adam Male 2, Jack Marshall, Carl Malpass and m.o.m. Alex Muldoon. They then lost 2-1 to Durham Titans, Alex Muldoon hit Consett's only goal and Adam Male was voted m.o.m.
Under 11s
Consett made the short trip to Beamish and recorded a 4-2 victory m.o.m. and hat-trick scorer was Mitchell Reid with Jack Newton also finding the net.
Under 12s
Max Aken Tyres and Anthony Basey scored the goals for Consett that defeated Cleveland Hall 2-0, Ryan McKinnon took the votes for m.o.m.
Under 13s
Consett phoenix lost 4-1 to a strong visiting Redheugh side, a goal from Philly McConnell and a fine display from Josh Lewis wasn't enough in this difficult fixture.
Under 16s
Consett's run in the county cup ended with a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Ford and Hylton a.e.t. Lee Dial was the pick of the Consett players in this even encounter.
Under 17s
Both the reds and blues were away and both recorded 3-2 victories, the blues travelled to Chester Athletic and Josh Henley found the net 3 times to record an excellent hat-trick, Joe Craig covered every blade of grass to be voted m.o.m.
The reds gained their points at Bowburn with 2 fine strikes from Jordan Armstrong and a single from Daniel Walker, m.o.m. was given to Ross Terrington for yet another fine display.
Girls Teams
Under 11sIn their two games a win and defeat was the order of the day, Consett 4 Lumley reds 1, girl of the match Sophie Halkyard hit 2 fine goals with Bethany Allison producing another fine attacking game, scoring the other 2. Their defeat was to Hilda Park, going down 3-1, Bethany Allison again finding the net and Stephanie Donahue being voted g.o.m.
Under 13s
Two games, two defeats as Consett first lost 4-0 to Chester Athletic with Stephanie Edgar the pick of the Consett team. Their second game was a close contest with Plains Farm scoring the wining goal, Consett's best player in this hard fought encounter was Nikita Butcher.
Under 15s
Sophie Coyle scored 2 plus singles from Kelly Christer and Amy Fawthrop to record a 4-1 victory over Farrington Detached, Chantelle Readman was the player to pick up the g.o.m. votes.
