TWO men have appeared in court charged with murder following a fatal assault over the weekend.
Connor Brown, 18, was found with life-threatening injuries consistent with stabbing in the early hours of Sunday.
The GP’s receptionist was found injured behind The Borough Pub, in Sunderland, and died shortly afterwards.
Leighton Barrass, 20, of Hartside Square, Sunderland, was charged with murder, while Ally Gordon, 19, of Polmuir Road, Sunderland, was charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.
Both men appeared before magistrates in South Tyneside yesterday.
They were not asked to plead and were remanded in custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on March 26.
Northumbria Police said: "Officers are still keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident, and have asked anybody with information to get in touch.
