PUPILS have acquired a range of new gear from a supermarket.
Durham Blue Coat Junior School, at Newton Hall, collected more than 40,000 vouchers which the children redeemed for sports and cookery equipment.
It part of Sainbury's Active Kids scheme, which rewards shoppers with vouchers.
Spokeswoman for the chain Katherine Hirst said: "We're really pleased to be able to share the excitement of Durham Blue Coat Junior School with their delivery.
"Overall, children's groups in Durham will receive a whopping £263,026-worth of sporting and cookery equipment, kit and coaching, thanks to Sainsbury's Active Kids."
