YOUNG bookworms found themselves in the jungle when they took part in a themed celebration of National Bookstart Day.
The Bookstart Bear joined children at Colburn library, near Catterick Garrison. It was one of a programme of themed sessions organised at libraries across the county.
Bookstart is a national campaign encouraging a love of reading among children, helping them to associate books with pleasure.
North Yorkshire libraries will have stories, rhyme sessions and other jungle themed activities.
Posters, bookmarks and stickers have been designed for the national celebrations by The Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler and will be distributed to children taking part.
