STALLHOLDERS at a farmers' market had a celebration of autumn fruits at the weekend.
Barnard Castle Farmers' Market celebrated Apple Day on Saturday, with apple-related products on sale as well as decorated stalls.
A food-themed triathlon also marked two other foods that have days dedicated to them this month.
Stallholders divided into five teams and took part in an egg-and-spoon race, apple-bobbing and searching for chocolate in icing sugar.
Nick Copson, Teesdale School's head chef, also made pancakes with either chocolate or apple fillings.
Emma Percival, from Kingfisher Eggs, helps to organise the market.
She said: "Everyone really got into the swing of things and it was great."
The market also raised money for Barnard Castle Meet.
The next Barnard Castle Farmers' Market will be on November 3, from 10am.
