A COMMUNITY safety team is targeting residents to boost its anti-crime message in North Yorkshire.
The Harrogate District Safer Communities Partnership is joining a Home Office national campaign.
It is to join the Not in My Neighbourhood week, from October 15 to 21, to raise awareness of tackling crime.
Members of the partnership, including the police and Harrogate Borough Council, will be speaking to people about the campaign.
Councillor Les Ellington, chairman of the partnership, said: "We are successfully tackling crime.
"I would urge anyone living in or visiting our district to pop along to one of the events we are holding to learn a little bit more about the work that we are doing.
"They will also be able to find out about some simple but effective means of protecting themselves against criminal activity."
Activities taking place include a Neighbourhood Watch annual meeting at Hornbeam Park, on October 16, from 7pm.
Vehicle crime will be tackled on October 19 with an anti-crime display in Prospect Crescent, during the day.
On October 20, between 10am and 3pm, bikes will be stamped with postcodes for free at Bilton Youth Centre, in Bilton Lane.
