A MULTINATIONAL oil and gas company is seeking views on plans to build a service station and food store in Sedgefield.
BP Oil UK is preparing proposals for the development of a BP petrol filling station and an M&S Simply Food shop on an unused site off the A689/A177 roundabout - enclosed by Station Road as it rises over the A689.
A public consultation event will be held at the Manor House, on West End, in the town between 3pm and 7pm on Thursday.
A spokesperson for BP Oil UK said: “Members of the development team will be present to discuss the proposals and answer any questions residents may have.
"Any comments received will be carefully considered as part of these assessments before the proposals are finalised.”
There are currently three petrol stations in and around the town - the independent North End Garage, Sainsbury's Petrol Station and nearby Jet's Bradbury Service Station.
