HUNDREDS of teenagers from across the North-East and North Yorkshire battled it out today in the region's top Army Cadet competition.
Forty-one teams from the Army Cadet Force, the Combined Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps were at Wathgill Camp in Catterick, North Yorkshire to complete a five-mile cross-country timed march and solve a command task.
The 370 cadets aged between 13 and 18-years-old had their map reading, first aid and marksmanship skills tested throughout the day.
Major Steve Emerson, who is responsible for the region's 7,350 cadets, said: "The cadets look forward to this competition each year. It gives them a chance to put into practise the skills they have been taught while enjoying testing themselves against teams from all over the region.
"I am very proud of the commitment and hard work they and their instructors put in and this is shown by the standards they achieve in this competition."
