A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident involving a Samurai sword outside a primary school.
The man is said to have arrived outside Green Gates Primary School, on Keilder Close, Redcar, at about 8.45am on Friday - just as youngsters were going into school.
He approached a man with a weapon, before chasing him and then making off.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: The incident is said to have taken place a short distance from the school entrance and its alleged that the male was riding a pedal cycling and brandishing a short Samurai-type sword.
He approached and chased another man before making off from the scene. Its believed that nobody was physically injured during the incident.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them. It is believed a number of parents were dropping their children off at school at the time.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with making threats to kill, affray and possessing an offensive weapon and will appear before Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday.
