A DOG survived after falling 50ft off the edge of a cliff.
The springer spaniel, called Milly, suffered broken teeth but was otherwise uninjured following the accident on Saturday morning.
A fire and rescue crew arrived at Snaisgill Road, an area in the moors and near a lead mine in Middleton-in-Teesdale, at about 10am.
The dog could be heard barking, and was rescued before being taken to a nearby vet for precautionary checks.
A fire spokesman said: "She does appear to be alive and well."
