A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a two-vehicle collision on an infamous stretch of road has been named.
Stuart Robert Goodwin, 41, of Peterlee, County Durham, was killed when his black Yamaha bike collided with a silver Peugeot 307 on the B1257 between Stokesley and Helmsley in North Yorkshire at 5pm on Thursday.
The car driver was arrested.
The collision took place at the junction for Rievaulx Abbey and the road was closed while police carried out an investigation.
The Peugeot driver remains in custody and witnesses to the accident or those who saw the vehicles prior to the collision are asked to call Scarborough road policing group on 0845-6060-247.
