DETECTIVES investigating the disappearance of Naheed Khan have released a detailed timeline of her possible movements in central Middlesbrough before she went missing.

Whilst police have not been able to confirm the activity as Naheed, they have released it in the hope that it jogs someone’s memory or unlocks information relevant to the case.

The possible clues have been pieced together throughout months of painstaking investigation as potential witnesses have been spoken to and Naheed’s bank accounts were analysed.

The Northern Echo:

Earlier this week, Cleveland Police confirmed they were treating Naheed's disappearance as suspected murder.

Her possible movements include:

• May 4, 2018 - potential sighting of Naheed on Linthorpe Road at the junction with Southfield Road and Princes Road between 1am and 1.30am

• May 4, 2018 - at 5.33pm Naheed’s bank account was accessed at the Barclays cash machine at Asda Thornaby

• May 4, 2018 - potential sighting of Naheed near to the ROAB (Buffs) Club on Wilton Street in Middlesbrough at around 9:30pm

• May 4,  2018 - potential witness sighting by a taxi driver picking up a fare on Angle Street going to Wicklow Street in Middlesbrough at around 11:10pm

• May 6, 2018 - at 12:24am Naheed’s bank account was accessed at the Post Office at Park Lane Garage in Middlesbrough

• May 6, 2018 - at 5:04pm Naheed’s bank account was accessed at the cash machine outside Adils Pizzeria at the junction between Marton Road and Southfield Road in Middlesbrough.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that someone other than Naheed accessed her bank accounts with her card, but officers are keeping an open mind as they can’t absolutely confirm that it was her.

The Northern Echo:

Naheed was reported missing to police on June 12 meaning that CCTV would likely to have been lost in that time.

The investigation team is relying on witness accounts to piece together Naheed’s movements.

At a press conference held on Monday, the senior officer leading the case announced fears that Naheed had come to serious harm and sadly the case is now being dealt with as suspected murder.

Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Green said: “We have confirmed a sighting of Naheed on May 3 in Thornaby town centre; however this information suggests she then travelled to central Middlesbrough. These dates were over the May bank holiday weekend last year and by releasing the details we hope that it prompts others to come forward.

“We have carried out extensive CCTV enquiries and I would like to appeal to people who may have driven along any of the routes in the timeline and check dashcam footage. I would particularly appeal to taxi drivers to check their dashcam footage for any sightings of Naheed.

“I would like to thank those who have given us information so far, we have had calls from the public following Monday’s press conference but I would encourage others to think about the suffering of Naheed’s family and give us the vital piece of the jigsaw that would give her loved ones the closure that they so desperately need.”

Naheed had links in Stockton, Middlesbrough and Thornaby. She is described as Asian, of slim build and around 5ft 6 tall, with long, dark hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
