Darlington Spraire entertained fellow Darlington rivals at the south park Sun 30th September 07.

Previous encounters earmarked this game a 'One To Watch' with both sides capable of playing exciting and attractive football.

It was Spraire Lads who set the pace of the game with some great passing football. Despite the battle in the midfield with both teams pressing each other hard, Spraire Lads were able to take the lead before the interval with great play from Maddison who paced down the wing, who delivered a great cross for Ryan Peart to score his first of the season. Spraire Lads kept up the tempo looking for another goal before half time but were denied several chances from some great goal keeping from the Allstars.

The interval saw Spraire Lads deservedly leading 1-0 and looking comfortable.

The early exchanges of the second half saw Allstars on top but resolute defending from Spraire Lads with Middleton leading by example kept Allstars out. Spraire then doubled their lead when Maddison picked up the ball on the half way line taking on 3 defenders before delivering an inch perfect cross for new signing Peart to score a drilled effort into the bottom corner of the allstars net.

Allstars quickly responded with a freekick on the edge of the box, with ex spraire player Jordan worley from a deflected free kick which hit the back of the net to make it 2-1 A good game all-round with Spraire Lads coming away with the 3-points.and the MOM award deservedly going to Ryan Peart.
