MUCH-needed work has been completed on leisure facilities in Ferryhill.
The new bowls drops on Mainsforth Sports Complex's bowling greens were recently installed by Ferryhill Town Council staff.
It is hoped that the improved facilities will attract new members to Mainsforth Bowls Club which is based there.
Karen Emerson, from Ferryhill Town Council, said: "After successfully securing a grant of £9,941 from Lottery funders Awards For All, the bowls club have been able to make the improvements, which cost £8,560.
"Both Mainsforth Bowls Club and Ferryhill Town Council who also assisted with the initial funding bid are thrilled and delighted by the improvements which will make a vast difference to the club's existing facilities."
The remaining grant money has been spent on providing new seating for the club and a new notice board for the sports complex.
