FIVE new police inspectors have been appointed in a North-East town. They started work in Darlington this week after being promoted from stations across the region.
The town's new Detective Inspector is Adrian Green, who previously worked as a community inspector at Spennymoor.
The four shift inspectors are John Zissler, who transfers from Newton Aycliffe, Steve Steen from Barnard Castle, Steve Ball from Shildon and Andrea Clayton from Bishop Auckland - who is to lead the town's video identification unit.
Insp Zissler comes from a well-known Darlington family - his father once ran a chain of butcher's shops in the town.
He said: "I was a PE teacher in London for ten years and then joined the Metropolitan police. After a stint in the Met I decided it was time to come home. I'm from Darlington originally and it's good to be back."
