A MUGGER is today sporting a burn mark on his arm - given to him by his victim.
The teenage thug and his accomplice ambushed their 22-year-old victim as he passed an alleyway, off Southampton Street, Redcar.
The pair demanded money and threatened the man, saying they had a knife. They then jostled him and punched him in the head.
Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over £20 - and stubbed his cigarette out on one of the attackers' forearms, at which the duo ran off.
The main aggressor is described as white, of thin build, 5ft 7in and about 17 or 18 years old.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, which occurred at about 8.30pm on Monday.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to a group of teenagers, who were seen in Thrush Road shortly before the incident.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Constable Daryll Tomlinson, at Langbaurgh serious crime unit, on 01642-302626. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
